Planning / Programing

PROJECT PROGRAMME

Establishment of a Project Programme is of paramount importance in the construction industry. This document confirms the contractor’s scope of work, the intended time for performance of the work, and the logic and assumptions for successful performance and as such is a highly valuable tool.

Unfortunately, it is often found that (in the rush to get started) clients do not position themselves very well when creating this fundamental document, often leading to misinterpretations of scope, timing, logic and assumptions at a later date.

ELC aims to minimize such issues by reviewing of proposed contractors programmes or preparing high quality programmes on behalf of contractors for future reference and avoidance of doubt in protecting the needs and requirements of our clients.

Our construction experience and commercial knowledge of the industry enables ELC to ensure that our programmes are realistic and contractually comprehensive documents consistent with the Client’s objectives, and with full recognition of potential risks and opportunities.

PROGRAMME TYPE

ELC specializes in modeling all forms of work from the Pre-Contract Stage through to Construction and Completion. We provide the following types of programmes:

  • Tender Programmes

PROGRAMME COMPONENTS

ELC incorporates detail into its programmes. Starting with a well thought out Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), programme users can easily comprehend the tasks and work progression. Detail is typically built up in each of the following areas:

  • Project Milestones
  • Access dates and locations
  • Procurement and Subcontracting Programmes
  • Obligations of other Parties
  • Engineering activity
  • Design programs
  • Issue dates for construction drawings
  • Procurement activity
  • Subcontracting strategy, including tender and award periods, material procurement, manufacturing time, mobilization activity, and temporary work requirements to support construction.
  • Construction activity to multiple levels of detail
  • Testing and Commissioning activity
  • Program Narratives / Work Methods
  • Productivity rates for manpower and equipment
  • Quantities of work to be performed (ie: concrete supply)
  • Plant requirements to support construction
  • Lead time requirements for work by Authorities and inspections.

ANALYTICS

ELC prepare bespoke progress charts to represent the work. As work is performed and progress earned, results are graphed for management review. Updates are performed on a regular basis and issued timely allowing our clients to forecast completion dates and project costs with a high degree of accuracy.
